Understanding the unique needs of school-age children who are gender expansive requires specific training in child development and family systems modalities, to support the entire family through what are often challenging times. Adolescents who identify trans or non-binary often are struggling with social and development issues as well as unsupportive educational systems. At Choices, we are dedicated to providing optimal support for children and youth, as well as their families, during this crucial time. When appropriate, therapists can also make referrals to medical professionals for medical treatments.
