Casey Chanton, LMSW (he/him) is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, where he obtained his Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration. Casey has over 10 years of experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities, trauma and community violence survivors, and people living with chronic conditions such as HIV. He has completed post-graduate certificate programs in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.

As a non-binary trans person himself, Casey’s therapy seeks to address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ communities, our partners, and families. He provides support with challenges including exploration of sexuality and gender identity, social and emotional aspects of gender transition, accessing gender-affirming care, family, relationship, and career issues, as well as trauma, anxiety, shame, and depression. Casey’s approach to therapy is person-centered and psychodynamic, integrating tools such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.

He uses a non-judgmental, trauma-informed approach that focuses on client strengths and emphasizes trust, collaboration, and choice. By creating a safe and affirming environment through therapy, Casey supports his clients to heal from past experiences and explore new ways of being that promote self-compassion, flexibility, and deeper connections with self and others.
